Contests
Academic contests give our students an opportunity to test their knowledge and skills outside our own school community. Our students perform extremely well in the ACSI Math International competition, the WCS Spelling Bee, and the WCS Speech Meet.

Each year, classes participate in field trips that bring subjects to life. Destinations include the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks, the Oklahoma State History Museum, the Oklahoma Capitol, YMCA Water Safety Lessons, Shepherd’s Cross Farm, Independence Zoo, Little House on the Prairie, the Tulsa Air & Space Museum, local pumpkin patches, and many more.
Students also develop their gifts and confidence through music and drama. Elementary classes participate in both fall and spring concerts (vocal and instrumental), and are featured in special events such as the community-wide Veterans Day program, Pastor Appreciation Chapel, Christmas program, Spring Concert, the annual all-school musical, and the annual drama play.
Hands-on activities and themed events further enrich student learning and school spirit. Highlights include Heritage Day, a re-enactment of the Oklahoma Land Run, cheerleading, volleyball, and basketball clinics, USA Day, Phillips 66 Chemistry Day, Red Ribbon Day, and Spirit Week with homecoming festivities.
